Only the dedicated will survive, this game is not for the weak. Business is the ultimate sport says Mark Cuban. He is right. Business is fun and competitive but most will not make it. Many fail in the first year or simply just give up once the going gets tough and the going will get tough. Entrepreneurship is brutal once you realize you are truly the boss. You have to make money to survive and this is no job! Their is very little security as an entrepreneur. Cash flow is king and you have to produce to be taken seriously.
First off you need a great idea that solves a major problem. This sounds difficult but it is not. I fell right into the entrepreneur problem solving by accident. I will explain. I went into business with one idea and it evolved into something completely different! I wanted to create a game shop and ended up with a subscription service. I started social media to help with the business and ended up with over a 100,000 followers! I then realized my followers needed help with promotion for their gaming channels. Problem solved by accident.
If you don't give up, solutions or opportunity will present itself! Your business just has to survive long enough to gain new life. Just don't give up if you truly believe in your idea. Business like life will evolve. You just have to adapt to your market. You have to try new things and stick with what works! I learned this from Facebook. I learned how they would constantly try new things, discard what didn't work and kept what did! They also tried new things constant. Keep it simple though if possible! KISS, or Keep It Simple Stupid. I learned this working for a marketing company as a young man. I always remembered that and applied it to my business and boy did it work!
I also learned from the great Marie Forleo how to do what your good at when you don't have no help. Entrepreneurs have to wear many hats, we have to do everything when we first start off. You have to be CEO, CFO, head of marketing, sales, shipping etc. It can get tough but it is possible. I started alone and did it all. Mrs. Forleo taught me how to concentrate on what you are good at and the help will eventually present itself. She also taught me how to become so great that the help or business opportunities will come to you! Yes, at first you can get overwhelmed trying to put new business on the board but like she said become so amazing that the new business will come to you. It worked for me! This is one of the first business lessons I learned and it worked out tremendously. I always thought about what she said and applied it to the T. My business idea truly turned out great and new business is always seeking my help.
I then took on another mentor. The great Grant Cardone. I have never met him but studied his work tremendously! He preaches the 10X factor. 10X basically means what it sounds like. You go 10 times harder than any other man or woman! The competition will not be able to keep up! I used the 10X factor and it took me straight to the top. I focused on 10x results and I was always 10 steps ahead of absolutely everybody. I have natural amazing energy and that helped as well.. I live by the 10X factor and I apply it to all aspects of life. It has made me truly unstoppable. The competition gets tired trying to keep up with me. Business like life is not a sprint but a marathon so just keep going because like life good business can go for decades.
I learned that it takes about 5 years to really launch a business and become a true brand. I found this to be true. I am now 10 years in and have become a real brand like the companies I admire. I have thought about quitting in the past but the passion just pulled me right back in. My other mentor Gary Vaynerchuck taught me that skills are cheap but passion is priceless. Nothing can compare to passion especially when action follows that passion so get to work and put 10X energy behind your work and the results you seek will follow.
